Graduation Day 2026

Today, we bid a fond farewell to our Leaving Certificate students as they celebrated their final day in Meán Scoil Mhuire.

The morning began with an important information session to support students as they prepare for the Leaving Certificate examinations. We then gathered for our annual Awards Ceremony, where students were recognised for their achievements across a range of disciplines including Art, Maths, Science, Linguistics, and Sport.

This year also saw the introduction of two new awards — the Dóchas Award and the Fiúntas Award — celebrating students who have made a special contribution to our school community. The ceremony concluded with the announcement of our School Girl of the Year. Huge congratulations to Oluwaseyi Odukoya on receiving this prestigious honour! (Awards post to follow)

Following the ceremony, students enjoyed a celebration with a coffee cart, hot food and açai bowls, while taking photographs and signing yearbooks with friends and teachers.

Students then left Meán Scoil Mhuire for the final time, receiving a heartfelt send-off from the entire school community before making their way to the Cathedral for their Graduation Mass. Bishop Connell and Father Michael celebrated the Graduation Mass alongside the students, whose chosen theme for the ceremony was Dancing with the Stars. The Mass was a joyful and reflective celebration, filled with music, dance, and meaningful participation from the students throughout.

As part of the ceremony, students presented beautifully decorated candles to their family members, a touching gesture symbolising gratitude, guidance, and support throughout their school journey.

Following the Mass, families, students, and staff gathered together in the Crypt for tea and refreshments, providing an opportunity to celebrate the occasion and share memories of the students’ time in Meán Scoil Mhuire.

We wish all of our Leaving Certificate students every success and happiness in the future.
