A huge well done to our U17 soccer team who have reached the Leinster Semi-finals after a hard fought 2-0 win vs Le Cheile S.S, Tyrrelstown.
It was very much a game of two halves, with the first seeing us take control of the game and create multiple opportunities. Mia continued her outstanding scoring form of late after Faye played a beautiful ball through to her, she gave the keeper no chance with a strike into the top right corner.
Shortly after, sister Sophie doubled the lead, after the ball was headed away from a corner, Sophie picked it up outside the box, before placing a fierce shot into the corner, taking the keeper by surprise.
At half time the score was 2-0. Le Cheile came out in the second half and were on the hunt for a goal to get them back into the game, but our defence was absolutely exceptional on the day, with Cara and Darcey standing out in particular.
The game finished 2-0, and Meán Scoil Mhuire are now waiting to find out who they will face in the Leinster semi-final, incredibly we are one game away from a second Leinster final this year for the school.
