Today, our school community gathered in St. Mel’s Cathedral for our Opening Mass, marking the beginning of a new school year.
As Mercy Day approaches, we were reminded that this anniversary year, from Mercy Day 2026 to Mercy Day 2027, is a special opportunity to remember our shared Mercy heritage, celebrate the many ways in which Mercy continues to flourish throughout the world, and look with hope towards the future.
During the Mass, Fr. Michael invited us to reflect on the values of hope, courage and, of course, Mercy as we embark on this new school year. His words encouraged us to carry these values with us in all that we do, supporting one another and embracing the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.
A special thank you to Fr Michael, Gerry, our Religion and Music Departments, and, of course, all of our wonderful students who volunteered their time and talents to help make our Opening Mass such a meaningful and special occasion. We are truly grateful for the care, dedication and contribution of everyone involved.
