A reminder to parents/guardians that the deadline to register your child’s interest in the DEIS Gaeltachta Scholarship Scheme 2026/27 is:
Monday, 21st September, 3:45pm
Applications received after this deadline will not be considered.
Parents/guardians registering their child’s interest must include all required documentation as outlined in the previous notice.
Documentary evidence confirming that the student has secured a place must clearly show:
• Student’s full name
• Name of the summer college or its official logo
• Total cost of the course
• Course start and end dates
• Course duration (2 or 3 weeks)
• Deposit amount paid
GRETB has confirmed that:
• Each DEIS post-primary school may submit up to 4 scholarship applications in the initial application round.
• 3-week course: Up to €950 or 85% of the course fee covered, whichever is less.
• 2-week course: Up to €820 or 85% of the course fee covered, whichever is less.
Where the number of eligible expressions of interest exceeds the places available, an internal random lottery draw will be used to allocate the available places, similar to previous years.
The draw will take place at 11:00am in Room 20 on Tuesday, 22nd September and is open to students who wish to attend.
