All-Ireland Linguistics Olympiad (AILO)
The All-Ireland Linguistics Olympiad (AILO) is a national competition where secondary school students develop and sharpen their problem-solving skills by solving language puzzles from fascinating languages around the world.
In AILO, students are presented with puzzles based on languages they are unlikely to have encountered before. Using logic and pattern recognition, they work to decode how the languages function and solve the challenges presented.
Students from our school take part in the competition each year and consistently perform very well, showing great enthusiasm and talent for analytical thinking and languages. Participation in AILO encourages curiosity about languages and helps students develop valuable problem-solving skills while gaining an appreciation of linguistic diversity.
