French Club
The French Club gives students the opportunity to explore the French language and culture in a relaxed and enjoyable environment outside the classroom. The club runs twice a week, with a Junior French Club on Mondays and a Senior French Club on Wednesdays. With the support of our French language assistant Alexandre – a native of Belgium – students take part in a variety of activities such as vocabulary games, quizzes, conversational practice and cultural discussions, helping them build confidence in speaking French while learning more about francophone culture. Students are also encouraged to take part in national initiatives and competitions, including the National French Reading Competition (Concours de Lecture) with some previous winners, and the French debating competition(Joutes Oratoires).
During le mois de la francophonie in March, students celebrate French Month through a range of activities and workshops, including film screenings, French-themed coffee mornings, cultural debates and much more!
