Camoige

Camogie was introduced to the school in September 2015, and the numbers participating in the sport have been growing steadily since. We are proud to be the only opportunity for girls to play camogie within County Longford. Currently, our team is made up of students from 1st year right up to 5th year. The team trains in Longford Slashers GAA grounds and occasionally in St Mel’s College, and along with learning the skills of the fastest field game in the world, they also have great fun while making new friendships along the way. We have entered a number of development blitzes in recent years and also fielded in a championship competition designed for schools that have recently adopted camogie as a sport. Camogie has been a welcome addition to the list of school sports and is another great way for our girls to keep fit and healthy.
