Today we celebrated Mercy Day 2026 in Meán Scoil Mhuire. We remember with gratitude the vision and courage of Catherine McAuley and all those who have carried her Mercy mission forward.
This year is especially significant as we look towards the bicentenary of the House of Mercy, founded by Catherine on Baggot Street in 1827. From that small beginning grew a Mercy story that has reached across Ireland and around the world.
Two hundred years later, Catherine’s vision continues to live through schools and communities like our own. Every act of kindness, compassion and care allows us to add our own chapter to that story.
As we celebrate 200 years of Mercy, may we look to the future with gratitude, connection, renewal and hope.
