Cuairt speisialta ón údar Ré Ó Laighléis

Bhí an t-ádh linn inné, an 9ú Márta, nuair a thug an t-údar cáiliúil, Ré Ó Laighléis, cuairt ar ár scoil. Bhuail sé leis an 2ú bliain. Léigh sé ceann dá scéalta dóibh agus labhair sé faoi théamaí agus charachtair an scéil. Ansin, bhí seisiún aige leis an 3ú bliain ar úrscéal na Sraithe Sóisearaí ‘Trumptaí Dumptaí agus An Falla Mór.’ Bhí an-phlé faoin Trumpach agus na tréithe a léiríonn sé san úrscéal. Mhol Ré na scoláirí go hard na spéire as a bhfáilte ó chroí agus as a mbéasa áille. Dúirt sé leo bheith bródúil astu féin agus as a scoil, an chulaith scoile a chaitheamh le bród, gur ambasadóirí iontacha iad do Mheán Scoil Mhuire. Lá den scoth a bhí ag cách.

We were lucky yesterday to have the famous author, Ré Ó Laighléis, visit our school. He met with second years. He read one of his short stories and spoke about the themes and characters in the story. Then, he had a session with third years on their Junior Cycle novel ‘Trumptaí Dumptaí agus An Falla Mór.’ There was great discussion on Trump and his characteristics as illustrated in the novel. Ré praised our students highly for their hearty welcome and impeccable manners. He said they should be proud of themselves and of their school, to wear their uniform with pride, that they are wonderful ambassadors for Meán Scoil Mhuire. An excellent day for all.
