Basketball

Our basketball team competes in the Midlands A region in all grades of school basketball. We enter 1st, 2nd, Cadet (U16) and Senior.

Teams (U19) with cadet and senior games taking place before Christmas, and 1st and 2nd taking place after Christmas. Training for the basketball teams takes place after school in the Mall sports complex on a Tuesday or Thursday evening from 4-5 pm. We have also introduced a new development team for those students who have never played before but want to give it a try. Historically, Mean Scoil Mhuire has a proud tradition of basketball success, in 2024 we won the U16 regional final, finishing with an All-Ireland bronze medal following the playoffs in Belfast.
