Commiserations to our senior footballers who were beaten by Mean Scoil, Trim in the Leinster Senior 'B' Final last Friday at the GAA Showgrounds in Kinnegad. The girls put in a huge amount of effort to get back into the game just after half time after Mia Shannon found the back of the net, but goals in quick succession for Mean Scoil, Trim proved crucial and ultimately the gap was too big. The gap could have been even bigger had Davina Dardis not made a number of crucial saves to keep out Trim who were excellent on the day.
Despite the loss, the girls can be proud of the effort they put in particularly Megan Glennon and Maria Reehill who throughout the game showed why they are both fantastic footballers and were constantly driving the team forward throughout the game. The whole squad gave 100% throughout the season and we could ask for no more from them.
We have no doubt that the girls will be back next year and even more determined to make up for this year's disappointing end to the season. Thanks to the whole coaching team, particularly Mrs Killeen and Mrs Devaney who gave up so much of their time to train the girls and to our sixth years who played their final game for the school, thank you.
