Vol…nteering all its missing is U

On Tuesday last, Angela Killian from Longford Volunteer Centre came in to the Ty’s and talked to us about the importance of volunteering within our community with worthwhile causes such as I.S.P.C.A and buddies for St. Christopher’s service users. We really enjoyed this talk and many of us signed up to volunteer straight away. Thank you Angela.

Who are we?

This week students received their international student identity cards organised by the student council under the supervision of Ms. McManemy and Mrs. McCaffery. The ISIC card allows students all over the world to prove their official student status and make the most of thousands of targeted student benefits and discounts in over 130 countries.

Strike from P.E.

The TY students would like to thank Ms. Hardiman for organising a trip to Longford Megabowl for their P.E class. They all really enjoyed it and hope to do it again in their spare time.

GAA Coaching

Twenty four TY students are currently undertaking a GAA coaching course with Paddy Cullen from Longford GAA. The girls will shortly put their newly acquired skills into action with coaching sessions in St Josephs primary school and a blitz for the local primary schools in Slashers on May 16th beckoning.
