J.P. Mc Manus Sponsored All Ireland Scholarship Awards
We would like to congratulate our former students Faeza Ahmed and Tabitha Richard Akinyemi, both recipients of the J.P. Mc Manus sponsored All Ireland Scholarship Awards. The awards ceremony was held in University of Limerick on Saturday September 16th. The ceremony acknowledged and recognised the outstanding results of 130 students and recipients of the All Ireland Scholarship Awards, from 2020, 2021 and 2022, who due to COVID, did not get an opportunity to attend the awards ceremony traditionally held annually. Ms Lyons, who attended the ceremony, praised Faeza and Tabitha for their dedication, diligence and ambition. In the programme for the ceremony, Faeza fondly recalled her days on the Green Schools Committee and stated that her best achievement in Meán Scoil Mhuire was her the work she undertook on the committee. Tabitha also recalled her days in the school and commented on how the school was a “major formative experience in her life”. Both Faeza and Tabitha are currently studying medicine in Trinity College. We wish them all the best in their studies and are immensely proud of their achievements and their success.

LCA Bonding Trip
On Monday, September 18th, the 5th-year LCA class embarked on an exciting team-building day at Shannon Adventure Centre, in Rooskey. The day kicked off with an exhilarating round of competitive archery, setting the tone for an action-packed day. Next on the agenda was a challenging climb up the climbing wall, followed by a rugged assault course that involved navigating under nets and through tunnels. The atmosphere was charged with competition, keeping everyone on their toes.
Following these heart-pounding activities, the group ventured onto the scenic River Shannon for a memorable kayaking experience, which was followed by a mudslide! The photos captured some of the unforgettable moments filled with laughter and excitement shared by the entire group. Without a doubt, it was a day brimming with entertainment and cherished memories for all the students.

LCA Hairdressing Workshop
The Leaving Certificate Applied Class attended a captivating hairdressing workshop in Hair Square, Longford on the 15th of September. Colette Reynolds, owner of Hair Square, generously shared her extensive knowledge and vast experience of hairdressing with our eager students. Subsequently, our students had the opportunity to apply their newfound knowledge by practising hair treatments on one another, all within the beautiful training facilities in Hair Square. This workshop allowed our students to gain invaluable insights into the world of hairdressing. One of our LCA students, Paulena, will undertake her work experience in Hair Square and we wish her the very best of luck. The morning was filled with learning, fun and enthusiasm, leaving a lasting impression on our students. The school would like to sincerely thank Colette for her professionalism, her time and the wealth of knowledge she shared with our LCA class. Thank you to Colette for facilitating this wonderful event for the class, which undoubtedly enriched the students' understanding and appreciation of the hairdressing profession.

Transition Year Leadership Programme
Transition Year students started their third week of the TY programme with a beneficial, exciting and brilliant Leadership Programme. Facilitated by Jim Maher, the students worked on leadership, personal development and team building. The theme for the workshop was goal setting and the girls thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We would like to thank Jim for encouraging, guiding and supporting our current TY students to become the leaders of tomorrow.
