Basketball All Ireland Semi-Final

Thursday April 25th was a momentous occasion in Meán Scoil Mhuire as our First Year Basketball team travelled to the National Basketball Arena for the All Ireland Semi Final. The team had successfully reached the final after three successful wins in the All Ireland playoffs in Belfast the previous week. Hopes were high as the team took to the court to the shouts and cheers of their fifty supporters. The Meán Scoil Mhuire team faced a strong challenge from a powerful Listowel team. Our players were outstanding and despite falling behind in a high intensity second and third quarter, rallied in the final quarter to narrow the gap to 12 points. We are incredibly proud of the achievement of the team and their coaches Ms Hardiman and Ms Jobe. Thank you to the team, their coaches, the supporters and Ms Murtagh and Ms O’ Farrell who accompanied the supporters. Seven out of eight wins in their first year representing the school is an outstanding achievement. Beidh lá eile ag an bPaorach.- Onwards an upwards.
