Sixth Year College Talk from TUS Athlone
Susan Denby from the Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) Athlone campus visited our school on October 10th to deliver an insightful college talk to our Sixth-year students. During her presentation, Susan provided valuable information about the diverse range of courses offered at the Athlone campus, the application process, and the exciting student life at TUS. The talk gave students a clearer understanding of their third-level education options and helped answer many of their questions about studying at TUS Athlone. Thank you to Ms Bonner and Ms Fallon for arranging this event.
Space Week
There were numerous exciting activities in school this week as the Science Department marked Science Week. Transition Year students made some pretty impressive Moon Hats, students made and launched their own rockets and First Years created their own Space Hats. Thank you to all members of the Science Department for organising a fun filled week.
First Year Cookery
Our first year students showcased their baking skills in Home Economics this week. The girls demonstrated the rubbing in method and used different skills to make scones that looked excellent and tasted delicious.
World Teachers’ Day.
October 5th was World Teachers’ Day. We were delighted to mark the occasion last Tuesday with tea, coffee and treats in the staffroom at little break. The goodies were an acknowledgement of the dedication of our Teaching Staff to teaching their students, but also for all the work they do above and beyond in terms of extra-curricular provision. Táimid fíor-bhródúil asaibh! Thank you to the ASTI representatives who organised the event.
